The Benefits of a Cuisinart Coffee Maker

When people are really “serious” about their coffee, they tend to purchase the finest equipment available to their budget, and usually their choices will include a Cusinart coffee maker.

This means certain grinders, filters and coffee makers will be required for them to achieve the sort of results they want. Now, this might mean a single-cup machine or a large capacity carafe, and many people will immediately look for a Cuisinart coffee maker for such requirements.

Why a Cuisinart coffee maker? The brand is known for producing reliable and high-quality kitchen equipment, and is also one of today’s most innovative coffee machine manufacturers. For example, they offer a combination grinder and brewer that makes a large pot of coffee, and they also offer an “on demand” machine that is directly connected to the home’s water supply.

Clearly, a Cuisinart coffee maker can be a wise choice for any shopper, but it does require a bit of research and comparison shopping before the best choice can be made for an individual’s needs. Before heading to the computer to do some online shopping, or to the nearest department store or mall, it is a wise idea to make a thorough list of the features needed.

For example, will the Cuisinart coffee maker need to have a coffee bean grinder? Will the temperature controls need to be adjustable? Does the machine need to include an insulated carafe? Should the coffee maker be programmable?

Because there are many different makes and models available, the best choices and prices can be found only when the shopper knows what they are actually looking for. Additionally, because a Cuisinart coffee maker tends to be among the most frequently “top rated” of the coffee machines available, it is quite likely that specialty websites and stores will offer interesting package deals. For instance, someone purchasing a machine with a grinder might also be offered the chance to purchase or receive gourmet coffee beans as well.

Brewing Great Coffee

Brewing Great Coffee

Only a few can disagree that a great day starts with a cup of rich coffee. A great flavored cup of hot coffee is a perfect way to begin your day. And most of the readers interested in this article like it that way only. The most important part in getting close to the perfect cup of coffee is brewing. This part is quite crucial once you have selected and grinded the fine gourmet coffee beans. Of course, brewing only starts after you have grinded the coffee well. For those who know less about brewing let us make it clear that the basic principal which is common to all methods brewing coffee is to immerse ground coffee in hot water to extract the flavor and aroma of the coffee so that the drink you get is rich in both mentioned above. So lot many things are to be understood with absolute clarity if you are planning to brew the coffee all by yourself.

While brewing the coffee, the coffee maker also plays an important role. The most commonly used coffee maker is the one which uses drip method and so it is essential to understand how to brew the coffee using it. The least bothered about element while brewing coffee is water. But a bit consideration to this element can drastically change the flavor of your coffee. We suggest you to use fresh filtered water for brewing. Always add fresh and cold water to your coffee maker. It is a misconception that it is better to add hot water for brewing coffee. Adding hot water directly to your coffee make not only changes the overall flavor of the coffee but can also ruin the coffee maker. So better add cold water only. Another factor is cleaning the coffee maker. Always ensure that your coffee maker is absolutely clean as the unwanted elements like water sediments and coffee oil can add to the brewing process and will change the taste of the coffee for the worst of it. That is why it is very essential to clean your coffee maker regularly so that nothing gets mixed up with the process of brewing coffee.

The most important step is to measure the proper amount of coffee for your brew. The most common method is to use two level teaspoons for every six ounces of water. You can always adjust it according to your taste to make your coffee either darker or lighter. It is better not to trust the measurements on your coffee pot as these are often wrong and sometime it is found that the machines cup is four ounces instead of six. Another aspect to remember while you brew the coffee is to brew only the amount of coffee that you will be consuming in the next hour. Keeping the coffee in the burner for more than this time may result in the coffee losing flavor, taste or even the aroma that eventually makes it stale.

How to Make the Best Coffee Cocktails

So you like cocktails and you like coffee, what are you to do? The simple solution that you may have already thought of is combining the two for a delicious after dinner drink that still has the smoky, bold, and complex flavors of Java. The good news for you to know is that many of these delightful cocktails are something that you can drink within your own home because they are so easy to create. I can think of nothing better than sitting back after a long day and a good meal with a steaming coffee cocktail that will relax me right away.

The idea of combining coffee and alcohol is not entirely new, since I am sure we have all seen the stereotypical characters in movies that pour bourbon into their black coffee to start the day. That is not specifically what I am suggesting, but instead I am offering you a more creative way to approach combining coffee and alcohol as a sweet treat that is unforgettable. The fun fact about coffee is that pretty much any alcohol is complementary with it, so you just need to pick your poison. If you are a vodka lover, then you can make a simple Baileys Espresso Martini, by combining:

• 2 ounces Bailey's Irish Cream
• 1/4 ounce Vodka of your choice (I like Grey Goose!)
• 1 shot chilled espresso

All that you have to do is shake these ingredients well in a martini shaker with ice, and pour into a frosted martini glass. This is a completely classy and elegant drink that will be perfect for an evening of entertaining guests, and it is best to garnish it with several espresso beans floating in a martini glass. I have to warn you that you will not be able to stop at just one, so be sure to sip this martini slowly!

Another fun and rich coffee recipe is Keoke Coffee, which uses Kahlúa, Creme de Cacao, and Brandy for a rich after dinner beverage. All you have to do is pour a half a shot of each of the three liquors that I listed above, and fill the rest of your coffee mug up with fresh, hot coffee. It is best to garnish with whipped cream to taste so that your coffee has a sweet flavor, and this is truly a great evening coffee cocktail to enjoy, especially in cold weather.

For those braver souls who really want to take it to the next level with their coffee cocktails, you can actually create coffee infused vodka. All you have to do is crush (not grind) with a spoon a handful of coffee beans, and place them in a jar filled with vodka. Make sure that it is sealed tightly, shake it well, and store it in a cool place like your refrigerator for one week. At that point, all you have to do is funnel out the bean particles, and you have a coffee flavored vodka to enjoy. Get creative, because coffee cocktails are truly on the rise!

The History of The Irish Coffee

The Port of Foyne was a busy air traffic point between Europe and United States in the 1930s and 1940s, carrying a diverse range of people from refugees and Royal members. It was the winter of 1934, the flight from Foyne left to New York in extremely bad weather that eventually caused the flight to return.

Chef Joe Sheridan working at the restaurant in the terminal building offered tired passengers the coffee drink mixed with a quality Irish whiskey. One American passenger asked if that's Brazilian coffee, and the chef answered, "that's Irish coffee."

In 1952 Jack Koeppler, owner of Buena Vista in San Fransisco brought the Irish Coffee recipe back to the United States and made it famous. Every year, the Foynes Flying Boat Museum holds an Irish Coffee Festival in August. The festival has the world's best Irish Coffee making competition.

The Original Irish Coffee

Joe, Sheridan, Foynes Flying Boat Museum

Cream - Rich as an Irish Brogue

Coffee- Strong as Friendly Hand

Sugar - Sweet as the tongue of a Rouge

Irish Whiskey - smooth as the Wit of the Land

In a warm stemmed whiskey goblet, pour one jigger of Jameson Irish whiskey. Add one spoon of brown sugar and fill with strong black coffee within one inch of brim. Stir to dissolve the sugar and top off with whipped cream, slightly aerated by pouring it over the back of a spoon. Do not stir after adding the cream as the true flavor is obtained by drinking the hot coffee and Irish whiskey through the cream.

The Classic Irish Coffee

●   2 oz Jameson Irish Whiskey

●   2 teaspoons brown sugar

●   5 - 6 oz freshly brewed strong black coffee

Stir thoroughly and top off with a layer of heavy whipping cream, poured gently over the back of a spoon.

The History Of The Jelly Bean

Funny as it may sound, but jelly bens do have a fascinating history. Jelly beans have been on the shelfs of our shops for around 100 years and have been enjoyed by young and old throgh out the world. While Jelly beans only made there main appearance in the 1900's jelly beans have been about since the 17th century but where known as Jordan almonds.

Jelly beans became very popular when they started being sold as penny sweets in many stores across the globe.

Back in the jelly bean early days they were sold in a variety of colors and flavors, but unlike the jelly beans of today they were not sold in variety packets, instead they were sold in single colors, a bag of reds or a bag of blues etc. Jelly beans then became very popular during seasonal times (eg summer or christmas) because of the various seasonal colors that were available.

Jelly beans remained the same, with their semi hard shell and soft chewy center until the mid 1970's. When the Herman Goelitz Candy Co., Inc. revolutionized the jelly bean for ever. This company made the jelly bean into a delicacy by making unusual flavors, such as peach, melon, grape and sour fruit flavors.

The new jelly beans were completely different, they donned a different taste as well as look, and the center was even changed in several flavors from the classic clear jelly to a matching color of the bean.

According to few independant sources jelly beans were the favorite of former president Ronald Regan. Of all the famous people who loved jelly beans throughout the ages Regan was the number 1 fan. During his administration it was quite common to find jelly beans in every almost every room in the white house.

One fact about jelly beans is that many of these little drops of heaven even went into space. One of the space shuttles took up a load of jelly beans for the shuttle crew to snack on while they were up there. I guess that even astronauts need to satisfy their sweet tooth now and then.

The history of jelly beans is not finished evolving as of yet. Every year more and more creative flavors of the jelly bean hit the market. In a few years time there will be a whole new history for people to talk about and record.

Iced Coffee At Home- the Best

Being a coffee lover whether its hot or cold, I always like to experience the freshly roasted taste  and flavour of the coffee beans.
Finding an iced coffee that satisfies this requirement at a café is difficult so I have the perfect iced coffee recipe which you can make and enjoy at home.
1.    To make the coffee mixture, (using your favourite coffee of course), always use fresh coffee grinds.  If you don’t have a coffee grinder, using a spice grinder will suffice. Instant coffee is not recommended to obtain the best iced coffee at home.
2.    From your espresso  coffee machine, stove top espresso or plunger, make 200mls of black coffee. If you do not have any of these coffee makers at home, line a funnel with a white paper napkin, place 2 tablespoons of freshly ground coffee, and pour 30mls of hot water through.
3.    Once the black coffee is cool, add 25mls of vanilla syrup flavouring.
4.     If you do not have the syrup handy at home, mix ¼ cup water and ¼ cup sugar, boil until the     sugar has dissolved. Once cool add 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence.
5.     You may need to adjust the quantities to ensure that you have your iced coffee tasting the way you like it.
In a tall glass, pour the coffee mixture. Once again, how much you pour is dependent on how strong you like your coffee
Add one level scoop of vanilla ice cream. Add milk to just below the top of the glass. Swirl in your cream and sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles.
Now, sit back and savour your iced coffee. It truly is unique.

As we swing into summer and temperatures begin to climb, the thought may cross your mind "how am I supposed to sell coffee when it's 95 degrees outside?" A simple, but incomplete answer would be: "Focus on selling GanoTea." Since everyone drinks iced tea in the summer, it seems like a no brainer to just put out a bunch of iced GanoTea SOD, some sweeteners and lemon wedges, and have a "Tea Break" instead of a Coffee Break.

But this would ignore the huge phenomenon that has made coffee both a hot AND cold weather drink. We're talking, of course, about Iced Coffee.

Cold coffee drinks have been steadily gaining in popularity over the last decade or so. In fact, it is likely that many of the younger coffee drinkers in the world first began their love affair with the beverage by way of a flavored cold coffee drink. So it makes perfect sense to serve some chilled varieties of Gano Excel coffee products at your "Coffee Breaks." This will require a small amount of preparation on your part, but you certainly don't have to go to Barista School either. Here are a few easy ideas for serving some cold coffee beverages at your next event:

Iced Almond Coffee - Combine 2 cups of Ganocafé™ Classic, 2 cups of milk, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, and a 1/2 tsp of almond extract, and serve over ice into 4 glasses.
Chocolate Iced Mocha – Combine Ganocafé™ Mocha and milk, serve over ice, top with whipped cream and chocolate syrup!
Blended Mocha – Combine equal parts Ganocafé™ Mocha, milk, and ice into a blender and blend until smooth. Top with whipped cream and chocolate syrup.
Iced Latte – Pour GanoCafé™ 3-In-1 over ice! (It doesn't get easier than that!)

Those are just a few examples to get you started; you're really only limited by your imagination. So the next time that you are conducting a "Coffee Break," by all means, break out the iced tea to help cool down your visitors, but don't forget about the iced coffee… chances are some of your guests may already be craving it! Coffee Maker Recipes

Coffee lovers rejoice!  There are actually recipes available that incorporate coffee as the main flavor.  Your coffee maker can help you to prepare these meals.

Everyone has heard of using coffee flavors in dessert.  But you can also add a distinctive flavor to lots of other dishes as well.  This can be done by making barbecue sauces and glazes for your meats with a coffee recipe.  You can also put coffee in your favorite chili or pot roast recipe.

It is always better to use fresh ingredients in a recipe and coffee is no exception.  Make sure that it is fresh by buying it freshly ground or by grinding your own.  (Which is a great reason to have your own coffee grinding machine!)  If your recipe calls for brewed coffee, don't use some that has been sitting around since morning time.  Brew your coffee right before using it.  You will want to make the coffee you put in your recipes stronger than what you would drink because it is going to be mixed in with other ingredients.

Here are a few recipes for you to try.

Coffee Meatloaf Sauce:  Combine a quarter cup of each of these ingredients:  water, dry red wine and worcestershire sauce.  Add one half cup of ketchup, two teaspoons of vinegar, two tablespoons of lemon juice, a teaspoon of brown sugar and an ounce of margarine.  Mix and add one tablespoon of instant coffee.  Prepare you favorite meatloaf recipe and place it in a preheated 375 degree oven.  After it cooks for 1/2 hour, pour the sauce over it and continue to bake for 45 more minutes.  It will come out tender and delicious!

Espresso Brownies:  Heat a cup of sugar, a 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1 and 1/2 sticks of butter in a sauce pan over low heat.  Add one teaspoon of vanilla, 4 ounces of chopped, semi-sweet chocolate and stir until melted together.  Then add one tablespoon of dark roast coffee and mix everything together and let it cool down.  Fold in three eggs and a cup of flour.  Pour your mixture into a 8 x 11 inch baking pan and bake in a 350 degree oven for thirty minutes.  Yum!

Quick Coffee Sauce:  Combine one cup of sugar with one cup of strong Colombian coffee.  Boil and stir until the sugar is dissolved.  Turn the heat down and simmer for three more minutes.  Let it cool and use it to pour over any kind of meal.

Gourmet Coffee Recipes

You'll satisfy your craving without going over your calorie limit.

If you aren't counting calories, but love the idea of coffee and chocolate after dinner, you should also try the decadent recipe below:If your relative or friend is a morning person who loves breakfast, a breakfast coffee gift basket is a great idea. If so, you will probably want a breakfast blend or other coffee that the person would want to drink at breakfast. Know if the gift recipient prefers whole beans, ground beans or K-Cup coffee

Ingredients:

* 3-1/2 oz. best-quality milk chocolate, very finely chopped
* Few grains of salt
* 1/4-cup heavy cream
* 1-cup water
* 2 tsp. instant coffee

* Optional garnish of lightly sweetened whipped cream
* Shaved or grated milk chocolate

Method:

In small microwaveable bowl, combine finely chopped milk chocolate and salt. Microwave at 50 percent (medium) power for thirty-second intervals, stirring well after each, just until chocolate is almost melted, then stir until completely melted and smooth. On high power, heat heavy cream until it is very hot. All at once, add hot cream to melted chocolate. Stir or whisk briskly until smooth (if you absolutely cannot get this mixture smooth, process at high speed in a food processor fitted with steel blade just until smooth). In two-cup liquid measure, heat water on high power until very hot. Add instant coffee to hot water and stir in well. Gradually add about half of hot coffee to milk chocolate mixture, stirring or whisking well after each addition. Add this mixture back to the remaining hot coffee in the two-cup liquid measure.

If necessary, heat beverage in two cup liquid measure at 50 percent (medium) power until steaming hot. Divide between two mugs (8 ounces each). If desired, garnish as suggested above. Serve immediately.Next, hit the supermarket, gourmet food store or Internet to fill the basket. You can choose a mix for pancakes, scones or waffles - if the person has a waffle maker. How about some gourmet maple syrup? Good maple syrup makes a plate of pancakes or waffles even better.

If you want a socially responsible gift, choose organic coffee and an organic foods store or section.

Evolution of the Coffee Recipe

Once upon a time, long after coffee was discovered, people used to have it mixed with hot water - plain and simple. There was no coffee recipe concept in existence. Out of the blue - and there are no records about the date - people discovered that while rotating and savoring coffee in their mouth, their taste buds could taste bitterness, acidic content, sweetness and saltiness depending upon how the taste buds sent out the taste signals. People felt that if these tastes were mixed with some other food or beverage, then the coffee taste might be enhanced. They started experimenting with coffee by adding milk, chocolate, and other flavors. This was the birth of the coffee recipe.

Evolution Of The Coffee Recipe

The earliest and best-known coffee recipe to mankind is coffee with milk. Maybe people got bored of drinking coffee with hot water or drinking plain milk, but one fine day they decided to mix coffee with milk and the recipe was a super-hit. The coffee recipe inventors literally tasted blood. Coffee marketers joined hands with them and there was no resting now. After milk came chocolate, after chocolate came flavorings, then syrups and then food and then liqueurs too. The coffee recipe brigade just kept marching on!

The Coffee Recipe In The 21st Century

As things stand now, a coffee recipe is used not just in making basic or designer coffees. A great coffee recipe can be a dessert or a sweet - For example, a basic coffee-based candy can be roasted coffee beans covered with chocolate. Coffee is added even to meats because it brings out the meat flavors with a subtle touch - but not a strong touch - of coffee flavor. So a coffee recipe can relate to basic and designer coffees, desserts as well as meat-foods.

Naming A Coffee Recipe

A coffee recipe concoction is usually called by a fancy name. The basic Café Latte is nothing but coffee with steamed milk (Latte is Italian for milk), a Cappuccino is one-third each of espresso, milk and foam! The Turkish Kahwa is nothing but black coffee brewed along with a few spices (cloves, cardamom, and sometimes even ginger), but people want to have a go at it because of its exotic name. Fancy coffees in cafes are often served with a dash of flavorings or syrups such as caramel, almond, hazelnut, vanilla, etc.

Well, we've had enough of coffee recipes. It's time for a break now. Coffee, anyone?
